Great cast acting and dancing. Just watching John Travolta again dancing and acting, makes me drool and I'm now 80 years old! Thanks for the memories!

One of the trend-setting classics. Enjoyable!

This movie captures the time then, 1970s. It would not fit in the political correctness views of today (sexism, racism, misogynistic, intolerance, immaturitity etc.), but it is an accurate potrayal of the times then, particularly of the…

I recall watching "Saturday Night Fever" when in played in theaters in 1978! It followed the Disco craze that permeated pop radio of the 1970s. At the time, most of us knew John Travolta as the wise-cracking Vinnie Barbarino on the TV…

Yes, I saw this, in '78, then ten years ago, then, this month, but the others, were the heavily edited, PG rating, but this one, is the R rating, and I must say that the R rated version, is one of the most vile films, ever. Now, the…

I was really disappointed. This movie is chauvinistic, misogynistic, racist, and just plain crude. I don't recall it being that bad years ago (I guess I have changed quite a bit). I really enjoyed Stayin' Alive (John Travolta is an…

Enjoyable. I saw the movie in the theaters when it came out in the 70s, but I forgot most of it. It's harsher than I expected. The side plots enrich rather than distract, and the ending is interestingly ambiguous, leaving room for the main…

A classic movie, but not great

This edition of "Saturday Night Fever" is the Director's Cut on the movie's 40th anniversary. The features are a 70s Discopedia that explains references and other trivia in words while the movie plays, a deleted scene of Tony and Stephanie…

40 years ago, I loved it. This week, I turned it off early. Maybe I'm getting old.

This movie was not good. The plot was all over the place. The acting was terrible. It was offensive in every way: sexist, racist, had a rape scene, and a death scene. If I could give it no stars I would.

Disco here. Disco there. Disco-Disco, everywhere. Well, folks, in case you're at all interested - (When it comes to "Disco" flicks) - This is the one that started all the fever (and, pretty much, ended it all, too, in a cold-sweat). For…

I saw this movie 40 years ago and loved it, loved it again when I saw it recently. I am surprised that they got away with some of the language back then. The dancing was phenomenal, John Travolta looked so good and his moves - what can I…

I didn't see this when it came out. Just saw it. It's a gross, vulgar, racist movie with great songs and some excellent dancing. I much prefer Dirty Dancing!

I think this is one of Travolta's best movies.

I concur with britprincess1. Back in the day, when this movie was new, I did not see it - could not afford the price of a ticket and this was way before all our present movie delivery systems we now have. Finally, I decided to watch it…

A classic! It takes the director just ten minutes to describe Tony's character, his family, his job, how he spends his free time. Nice job of connecting with the audience and setting up the rest of the story. Great music. Fast paced…

It's one of my favorite movies. An amazing performance by John Travolta. It brings you back to the 70's disco era.

I hate to be the person who hates the classic movies. I always want to see what gave it its longevity, but, unless it's Travolta's dancing, I don't understand the appeal of this film. There isn't even enough dancing for it to be that! This…

A gritty urban backdrop and raw adolescent emotion are combined in “Saturday Night Fever”. The result is a classic film that perfectly captures the ethos of the late-seventies disco culture.

An older film from the 70's, when John Travolta was young and slim. Punctuated by many BeeGee hits, this is a pretty good film to kill a couple of hours. The dance sequences were enjoyable too.
