I loved Turner's MY NAME IS RESOLUTE. Can't wait to read this one, and the others. Great author!

I can't BELIEVE I didn't know about this until 2016. SUCH A GOOD BOOK!!!!!!!!! PICK IT UP RIGHT NOW. I have always been a big fan of the late 1800's-early 1900's...such a Laura Ingalls feel and yet something so profound and beautiful...every word is so intricate. If you love the style of Game of Thrones then you would love this book. Game of Thrones is a popular series for a reason; because it's good. The writing style connects history and the modern universal language that really conveys feelings. So is the same with this book. Sarah is strong, poignant, and she has such a heart of steel no matter what she is going through, or what the people important to her are going through. The beginning touched me so deeply, and that was only the beginning. I have never or very rarely seen the world through the characters eyes as well as with this one. You feel courage when she feels courage, mad when she's mad, and you're happy for her as if she were real.

I was immediately captivated by this book and was thrilled to find out there were two additional books in the series. I'm loving the pioneer days, the bygone era.

This novel offers a view of the rugged, untamed pioneer landscape through the eyes of a woman. The most fascinating thing about this book, in my opinion, is that it is based on the actual events in the life of Sarah Agnes Prine, the author's great grandmother. She is described as a strong, stubborn woman who holds her own in a dangerous, dusty wilderness while maintaining a tenderness that allows her to nurture her family and friends. She is wise, hardworking, and determined to carve out a home for herself in the Arizona territories. The ending will leave you curious and tempted to read the other two books in the trilogy, but neither one of them seem to live up to the adventure and the romance delivered in These Is My Words.

I enjoyed this novel although will say that it was predictable. I didn't mind that, though, because I like to read about the life and times of the pioneers.

I LOVED this book. It was so real and yet wonderfully romantic with a love story that continues long after the wedding day.

An easy read that you can't put down.

PLEASE ignore the perfectly awful cover on this simply amazing book! I walked by it on the shelf for years despite great reviews.

For all of us who grew up on the Little House on the Prairie books, this is the (more or less) grownup version. Great for older teens too, as the heroine is 17 when she embarks on a wagon trail journey with her family to "the Territories".

Sarah makes fast friends, faces horrors and loss on the trail, and eventually builds her own strong and loving extended family. There's adventure, and romance, and Sarah's own wry and indomitable spirit. I could not put it down.
