Although well written, the main message seems to be that no matter what happens, it is part of God's beautiful plan. This concept, to me, makes life senseless. For example, I can run across a busy street and get hit by a car - no problem, that's part of God's beautiful plan. Hiroshima, Auschwitz - no problem, part of God's beautiful plan. An impressive book on the same topic is, When Bad Things Happen to Good People by Harold S. Kushner.
