There is so much historical and human insight in these wonderful stories that I would think this book would be part of a junior high or high school curriculum. I've come away with an enriched perspective on our modern society: the awesome speed of the spread of local news; the total acceptance of the physical hardships - but not the emotion wounds; the hierarchical structure of their society, regardless of the small population and dependance on each other in the harsh climate. Loved this book!
