A facsimile edition of Costume and Fashion: Senlac to Bosworth published by J. M. Dent, London, in 1927. It was the second in a projected six-volume series that renowned costume architect and archaeologist Norris completed only four of before his death in 1950. He describes various garments and accessories, illustrates them with line drawings, demonstrates the construction of many with patterns and instructions, and defines the often exotic terminology. He also includes 16 color plates of his own paintings. The reference could be very valuable in theater, book illustration, or period reconstructions. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (
