What a great read! The author perfectly paces the action and plot, in the most adroit and deft manner possible! Not to slight Graham Greene and John le Carré, but I thought this book superior; a truly well done piece of fiction. (Or was it really fact?) Sadly, the author, and investigative journalist, died in 2009, and his follow up book to this, "Flint's Law" was his last. Although published in 2000, this book resonates more today than ever before.

I always have difficulty reading an English author and this one just left me confused by characters and plot. I didn't rate it because I didn't finish it.
