This book is really great I am learning a lot from it. I am learning a lot about these people. It is sad that it doesn't seem to be getting much use. Yes it is older and published in 1992 but it is not out of date I think the last historical figure covered in it lived in the 1960s though at lest one lived into the early nineties. As with all Scholastic books it is excellent for use in writing a Junior High or High school report. I especially would like to recommend it to white youth to help you understand more about your black fellow Americans and understand the obstacles they had to face because of racism and discrimination.
