Trapped in a job he hates, Adam Cassidy, a young employee at a high-tech corporation, is caught attempting to manipulate the system and is offered a choice--prison, or spying at the headquarters of their competitor, Trion Systems.

McMillan Palgrave
Adam Cassidy is twenty-six and a low level employee at a high-tech corporation who hates his job. When he manipulates the system to do something nice for a friend, he finds himself charged with a crime. Corporate Security gives him a choice: prison - or become a spy in the headquarters of their chief competitor, Trion Systems.

They train him. They feed him inside information. Now, at Trion, he's a star, skyrocketing to the top. He finds he has talents he never knew he possessed. He's rich, drives a Porsche, lives in a fabulous apartment, and works directly for the CEO. He's dating the girl of his dreams.

His life is perfect. And all he has to do to keep it that way is betray everyone he cares about and everything he believes in.

But when he tries to break off from his controllers, he finds he's in way over his head, trapped in a world in which nothing is as it seems and no one can really be trusted.

And then the real nightmare begins...

From the writer whose novels have been called "thrilling" (New York Times) and "dazzling" (USA Today) comes an electrifying new novel, a roller-coaster ride of suspense that will hold the reader hostage until the final, astonishing twist.

An unlikely scenario, but a fun read, sometimes on the edge of my seat worrying about Cassidy getting caught sneaking information or sharing it.

An escapist excursion into the shallow triteness of the tech world, the land of gadgets, gizmos and must have iTrinkets.

This novel is the real deal: a thriller that actually will keep readers up way past their bedtimes. (Jan. 20) - Publishers Weekly

I was originally put off by Finder's cookie-cutter background, highly underwhelming, but this is really a hilarious book, assuming all the management of all tech companies are reading the same books and acting according to the same script, which is the case for all corporate losers today in America, where they only know how to offshore jobs and generate junk paper! Finder perfectly captures the complete and utter b.s. and chronic disingenuousness, also called insanity, of the corporate workplace. Looks like it will make an even better movie! (The ending reminds me of the diabolically clever takeover of Bank of America by Nations Bank and the hedge fund, D.E. Shaw.)

True thriller, kept me reading throughout the night. A lot of tech jargon, but it doesn't negatively affect the reading, it enhances the authenticity of the situation. Plus the main character is pretty much in the same position as the readers, so it's kind of amusing. The twists and turns in this book give it those extra brownie points. Fantastic piece of writing, highly recommended!

Finder seems much more at home writing about corporate politics and industrial espionage than national intelligence issues. Paranoia hits the ground running and doesn't let up- an engrossing story I couldn't put down.
