A fun book that uses photos of real kids as the characters of these traditional rhymes. One of my favorites is the boy who is jumping sky high over a candlestick.
Joyful pictures of a diverse set of children playing and having fun illustrate these classic nursery rhymes. Beautifully done!
Photographer Nina Crews uses her Brooklyn neighborhood as the backdrop of this awesome book of nursery rhymes. Makes a nice blend of old verses new.
This book is the only illustrated version of traditional Mother-Goose rhymes that our 3-year-old boy actually likes. For once, he can relate to the illustrations, because they aren't the usual cartoons or antiques, but rather consist of lively, convincing photographs and photomontages of modern urban children and families acting out the rhymes. These updated visuals enable contemporary pre-schoolers to identify with the rhymes and thus reap their numerous benefits for literacy development in the same way that past generations did.
