In November 2002 the United States Congress and President George W. Bush established by law the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, also known as the 9/11 Commission. This independent, bipartisan panel was directed to examine the facts and circumstances surrounding the September 11 attacks, identify lessons learned, and provide recommendations to safeguard against future acts of terrorism. This volume is the authorized edition of the Commission's final report.
Nearly three thousand people died in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. In Lower Manhattan, on a field in Pennsylvania, and along the banks of the Potomoc, the United States suffered the single largest loss of life from an enemy attack on its soil.

On 9/11/01, a bunch of hijackers, 15 of whom were Saudis and in America legally, and several of whom were connected with Saudi intelligence services, and several who had been given training at US military installations [Defense Language Institute in Monterey, and an army base in Florida] hijacked 4 airliners, a 5th airliner narrowly escaped hijacking [please see Lynn Spencer's wonderful book, Touching History, the best book written on the events of 9/11]. On 9/10/01, the Pentagon announced that $2.3 trillion in DoD funds were unaccounted for, and on the morning of 9/11/01, the auditing team which had uncovered this was meeting at a conference room by the Pentagon's west wall, where almost all of them were killed - - the remaining one seriously injured - - when Flight 77 crashed dead center into it. Several months later, the Big Four investment firms were suddenly $2.3 trillion richer [BlackRock, Vanguard Group, State Street and FMR LLC].
Prior to 9/11 [and also afterwards], VP Dick Cheney donated his Halliburton stock options, worth millions of dollars, to hospitals where he had been attended to during his multiple heart attacks. Shortly after 9/11/01, Cheney suddenly was worth $100 million, most inexplicably, as was Donald Rumsfeld?!?!?
Today, both Cheney and Rumsfeld live on adjoing estates in St. Michael's, Maryland, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay.

Dr. David Ray Griffin, retired university professor gave lectures to audiences at universities about the 9/11 events and about this Report of the (Zelikow) Commission. Dr. Griffin said that this book was listed in Amazon.com and the public gave it 5 stars; they said it read like an excellent crime story. But, Dr. Griffin said this: "It would indeed merit 5 stars if it was listed in the "Fiction" section, because I could not find a one single true sentence in it ."
