I never had an imaginary friend when I was a child, but this book made me wish I did! I loved this novel. Definitely a feel-good read.

Don't normally read James Patterson but this one was a really good.

I picked this book up with the expectation of a fun, “fluffy” read and was quite looking forward to it. I don’t know if my perspective is skewed because I'm used to dense textbooks, but this was even fluffier than I expected, so I was a bit disappointed. The premise of the (sort of) imaginary friend was intriguing with so much potential, but the execution was disappointing. The semi-magical friend led to some Deus ex Machina plot resolutions more than once. Much of the plot seemed either contrived, or hints were planted so obviously that the plot was predictable. It also tended to rely on everyone knowing about New York for its sense of ambiance, i.e., you had to know the “feel” of different areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn and their layout to get the whole picture.
I also think Patterson could have gotten into the details of Jane and Michael’s relationship more.
Would I recommend it to others? Maybe if they didn’t have high expectations and just wanted a fling through a relatively brainless but cute romantic story. But if they wanted great writing, they might have better luck elsewhere.

James Patterson is one of my very favorite authors and I just love all his books. After reading this book I was just... stunned. His books are all amazing because they always keep your interest. The plots are incredible, his characters are lovable, and his endings are totally sob-worthy. There is not one paragraph in this book that I found slow or boring. I couldn't stop reading this book. I literally didn't eat until i was done. Great job again Patterson. You've won my love for your writing.

James Patterson [my favorite author] has done it again with one of the best story ideas in the world! I could really relate to this book because when I was younger, I had sort of an imaginary friend that I fell in love with... sadly, mine has not come back for me yet. Regardless of that, the plot is sweet, the characters real, and the end throws you for a spin! Even though I'm only thirteen, I loved it... [Though I know you really should be an adult, who cares? It's Patterson. I HAD to read it!] And I guarantee that any book-lover will, too.

A wonderful, heartwarming and sweet book. I couldn't put it down and enjoyed every minute of it! Very highly recommended, as all James Patterson books are!

Loved This book so much. DO NOT WATCH the lifetime movie, it does the book no justice. Such a sweet plot!

This was such a cute book. I loved how innocent it seemed and was just a perfect book. The Lifetime Movie has nothing on this. The book is a lot better than the movie both in content and the characters are better developed and more morally sound. I loved the Michael character and how he slowly become human and returns to his beloved Jane who never forgets him. Truth be told, I loved this book because it was about imagination and true love.
