Mine had subtitles.
5 different days, not in a row. 5 hour program, lots of time for development. Sad story, of course.

Don’t know if the soundtrack is getting worn out, but with all the regional accents, background noise, we found it too hard to understand and there were no subtitles available.

Rated 6/10. The only reason this gets a 6, and not a 5 (for average), is that there is a nice twist at the end.

Again, this TV series was made to a certain time frame. There were lots of extraneous scenes that added nothing to the plot. A two hour movie would have made for a tighter script, and much more suspenseful story.

I've seen this type of genre done much better.

I seem to have a preference to Brit series & this is no exception. Like the actors, the script, the real possibilities. The teenager was a mess; the young children so lost; the husband disbelieving (good actor David Oyelowo.) Yes, a tiny bit disappointed toward the end. Beats the sox of US series....

A gripping crime drama done with British flair. Some unnecessary sensualism toward the end of the series, but otherwise one day makes you want to know what could possibly happen next.

Excellent movie. Very well acted, actors gave feeling to the movie.

A moving and well-acted crime drama with some quite poignant moments. Thoroughly enjoyable example of the genre.

An excellent whodunit, that is long enough to tell the story, but short enough to end before you loose interest. TV series adapted from books - take note!

This was a well acted drama which focused more on the emotional reactions of the family than on the intellectual detective work on the case. The heartfelt anguish of waiting and uncertainty of the outcome deeply connects the viewer to those whose lives have been impacted. The police, public, and community are seen in an authentic, realistic way, revealing both their strengths and weaknesses. I found this a moving and well told story.

A mystery without any reasonable solution, this film begins with the event of a loving mother and wife who disappears from a car leaving her children abandoned on an access road to a busy freeway. The details that expose the reason behind her disappearance are eased out with the help of an excellent cast and a wealth of teasing detail.
