As much as I enjoy the earlier films in the Dirty Harry series, by the time that this movie was being created the wheels were coming off of the franchise. While Clint Eastwood does a servicable job as the protagonist, the storyline is rather empty and pointless. The murderer responsible for the whole thing is more pathetic in a boring way than genuinely scary at all. Scenes come and go with few of them being that memorable. It's a disappointing end to a group of films that as a whole are truly important in not just movie-making history but are a big part of modern pop culture.

One of the GOLD standards of action/adventure films from the WEST,not just the final ''Dirty Harry'' movie period. The unforgettable 4 minute + car chase is the most original car chase i have ever seen to date period.Great cinematography by the way.YES,i felt extremely lucky going back down memory lane choosing this classic as my DEBUT of deliberately watching a movie i know i saw already from the library for the first time finally period. This definitely won't be my last time going back down memory lane from the public library DVD rentals because the majority of movies nowadays (from all genres literally) are most definitely NOT as good as some of these CLASSICS from the 20th century period. What is or was your first deliberate back down memory lane DVD rental that you saw from the public library and why??????????????????????????
