Amazing record front to back. Newman is an undervalued American songwriter.

For the younger generation (you know, the kids), Randy Newman is that dude who writes all the Pixar songs. But he had a pretty great run of albums in the 70s. Like contemporariesVan Dyke Parks, Brian Wilson and Harry Nilsson (who did a whole album of Newman's songs), Newman was of the rock era, but interested in older styles, like show tunes, ragtime and Tin Pan Alley songs. Along with "Good Old Boys" and "12 Songs," this is one of his best albums. The reissue includes 5 bonus tracks. Co-produced by Lenny Waronker, whose son Joey plays drums with Beck.
