Joe Hunter solves problems. Or, as he likes to put it, he's "the weapon sent in when all the planning is done and all that's left is the ass kicking." And as a former military operative and ex-CIA agent, he's good at what he does. But when he's told that his brother--with whom he hasn't been on the best of terms--has disappeared, he learns that everything he's faced before is child's play compared to what's coming.--From publisher's description.

HARPERCOLL

“A dose of pure rocket fuel….I loved this book.”
—Christopher Reich

Jack Reacher stand aside, Joe Hunter is on the job! Dead Men’s Dust marks the debut appearance of an unforgettable new tough-guy hero—as Matt Hilton, a superb new thrill-master, joins the ranks of Lee Child, Jeffery Deaver, Robert Crais, John Sandford, and Michael Connelly. Bestselling author Richard Hammond, star of TV’s Top Gear, calls Dead Men’s Dust, “Taut, thrilling, tense and sometimes scary…written with passion and backed up by real experience of some of the darker sides of life.” Readers will be riveted as ex-military officer Hunter follows the trail of his estranged brother, who may be the next target of a terrifying serial killer.

Not bad if you like your he-man stories to be a bit over the top. This is tough guy prose with a layer of sensitive guy laid over it. Reasonably good escapist material.
