Horrible waste of 2 hours and 40+ minutes.

The girl who plays Dorothy wore a silly wig through the whole movie. It looks like the really wanted to cast Ann Hathaway but had to settle for some barely talented no name.

What a waste for the some really talented supporting actors to be stuck in this mess that made no sense and has 80s style special effects and cheap costumes.

I never actually saw my kids watch this, though it was in the dvd player. So I am going to say that they didn't find it interesting enough to stick around - kids aged 5 9 15....

I didn't make it past the first 15 minutes. Was Dorothy not the Gales daughter? If she was why were the Gales shocked to see her lying on the ground after the hurricane? If she wasn't their daughter, did they adopt her? Too many questions for me and uninteresting characters = Eject.

Different. I just let it play as "background noise".

A terrible take on a much loved series. There are 14 books in L. Frank Baums

Far too long. It lost my interest about half way thru. The "jokes" are lame- or at least directed toward a 9 year old. Special effects were not very special. Budget wasn't big for this one.

Tina R. Cooper says: "For any/all adults that OZ & Dorothy, this is a must see. Now you'll get the real low-down on what really went on". Enjoyed it, totally!

I agree with MissBee82.
Very long, drawn out scenes, repetitive flashbacks, bad acting...sad to see Pippin and Samwise in this movie, they could do better!

I really didn't know what to expect from this movie, but I found the acting to be rather poor and everything a little too cheesy for my taste.

A low budget film that includes not only the "main" characters from The Wizard Of Oz but also some of the lesser known characters from some of the other books in the Oz series including the Nome King, Princess Ozma and Princess Langwidere.

Despite the special effects being off, this mini series puts a whole new (and different) take on the Wizard Of Oz and introduces us to a Dorothy Gale in her 20's who has been writing books about Oz, not realising that they're suppressed memories. Enter in the Wicked Witch of The West who is after the key which will open the book that contains the Changing Word, the most powerful word in creation and which Dorothy supposedly has and you have an enjoyable film about the misadventures all of which takes place in modern day New York. Definately one for those who enjoy strange and different takes on a much loved story.
