Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived. She awakens from the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell deep inside the bunkered catacombs of District 13. Separated from some of her closest allies and fearing for their safety in the Capitol, Katniss finally agrees to be the Mockingjay, the symbolic leader of the rebellion. Still uncertain as to whom she can trust, Katniss must help 13 rise from the shadows, all the while knowing that President Snow has focused his hatred into a personal vendetta against her - and her loved ones.

It was very fun to watch. It kept on the edge of my seat. Recommended. No immoral content.

Disappointing. Very blah.

Repost: Like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow part 1, this first installment is one long set up for part 2, which should be with more explosive special effects, intriguing twists and climatic ending, all three elements barely moved the needle in part 1. Unlike in American Hustle, JL did not lip-sync and actually sang the ballot "The Hanging Tree" (see summary for lyric from the book).

Not as much action but works well if you have read the books.

Admittedly darker and grittier than its predecessors (The Hunger Games & The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) but just as well acted by its supremely talented leading lady Jennifer Lawrence as well as the bevy of Oscar-caliber supporting characters excellently played by Julianne Moore, the late great Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Donald Sutherland, Stanley Tucci, Jeffrey wright among others. The only thing I didn't like here was the splitting of the final book into a two part film which I found totally unnecessary.

I enjoyed the Hunger Games and its sequel. They were imaginative and action filled.

This dreck literally put me to sleep. Soap opera.

Milk it well, Lionsgate!

Not sure what I took from this. This didn't have the same flare and excitement as the first 2. The story revolves around PTSD, revenge, population displacement, a new hierarchy being created, exploding arrows that could take down fighter planes...can't say I liked this on any level- it is Part 1 of 2- we will see what shakes out.

Not enough action.
