Everything seems to be changing for the better at Hotel Transylvania. Dracula's rigid monster-only hotel policy has finally relaxed, opening up its doors to human guests. But behind closed coffins, Drac is worried that his adorable half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis, isn't showing signs of being a vampire.

Hotel Transylvania 2 by Todd Durham is a very interesting movie and it is a great extension on the first Hotel Transylvania. It is nice to see that the hotel has become more accepting of humans and no one is confused when a human comes to stay at the hotel for a visit, especially Dracula. In the first movie a vampire and a human fall in love with each other and in the second movie, they are now parents to a little boy named Dennis. Dracula is concerned that his grandson isn't actually half-vampire, so he tries everything he knows to make sure he truly is part vampire. In the end, Dracula said, “Human, vampire, unicorn, you’re perfect no matter what.” That saying means a lot and it is nice to know that this movie contains a very important lesson and it is said in a unique way where everyone will understand it. 4.5/5 rating. -@TheBookieReadingMonster of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

Hotel Transylvania 2 is a great movie. It is a funny cartoon about the world of monsters. It is a great sequel to the first Hotel Transylvania. The first movie is about a human entering the monster hotel which has never happened before. The vampire who runs the hotel finds out about the human and helps disguise him so the other monsters don't find out and the hotel reputation remains intact. The twist is that the vampire's daughter falls in love with the human. The second movies is about the vampire-human child. The human side of the family wants and believes the child is a human, whereas the vampire side of the family wants and believes the child is a vampire. All they can do is sit and wait for the big reveal. With this suspense hanging throughout the movie and the many other twists you will discover unexpectedly, this is an amazing movie for the whole family. All the different monsters and powers seen throughout the movie make the creativity and imagination brought alive surpass most movies. I definitely loved this movie and you will too. 4.5 Stars.

A hilariously innovative movie with a between-the-lines story, Hotel Transylvania 2 was overall a good source of family entertainment. While I mostly enjoyed the movie, I did feel as though it was more suitable for younger children as sometimes I lost interest and no longer found the humour in the movie. That being said, if you’re searching for an all-inclusive family friendly movie, this may not be the one for you as it isn’t the most mature and captivating movie out there for older children. Aside from that, Hotel Transylvania 2 went beyond my expectations and all in all, was a fun, family-suited movie.

I was really expecting this to be absolutely terrible! For the first time in my life, I was wrong. I was pleasantly surprised. The humor is still there(while some of it is inappropriate) and the plot was ok. Though the trailer for the next Hotel Transylvania movie looks REALLY STUPID!! I will still watch it anyway.

the movie was great except that they took out the part where Drac said "are you kidding me?!" after they hopped on the lil scooter, just like he did in all the trailers (except maybe the final trailer? was there a final trailer i didnt watch before the movie?). i think that scene wouldve been just a bit greater if they'd left that part in. why did they take it out?? they were in a big hurry and a snail couldve gone faster than that scooter. :P other than that, it was great. lotsa goofy little moments in there, i was not disappointed. :D

The whole thing was good except for the ending. The ending was unrealistic. The rest was fine, but not as good as the first Hotel Transylvania.

I liked Hotel Transylvania and I liked Hotel Transylvania 2. It's fun, corny, has good animation and offers entertainment for adults and children.

SPOILER ALERT!!!
We just went and saw this movie, and it was not appropriate for toddlers/young kids. The first half is funny and true to the first movie. The second half....not so much. As a present to his grandson, Drac brings Dennis (his grandson) favorite TV character, Cakey (similar to Elmo) to the party. Dennis' great-grandfather, Vlad decides to "scare the fangs out of" Dennis by possesing Cakey. Cakey is yarded into the air, and his head starts spinning around, and he is jerking, as though being tortured. He begins asking for the violence to stop, and it does not, terrifying Dennis. The second scary part that happens in this movie is when Dennis runs away from the hotel after overhearing that he doesn't belong. Dennis' great-grandfather's minions, which look like Gollum from LOTR, chase Dennis, and break into his hiding place, almost like in a horror movie. They have full intention to kill him because he is human. Everybody escapes, and it is a happy ending, but this movie is not good for kids!

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Possessed child's TV character, young kids being hunted down and attacked by a monster. Not scary, just intense.

[From Trailer; Dracula, Frank, Wayne, Murray, Dennis and Griffin are riding on Blobby's motor scooter]
Dracula: Hit it!
[the motor bike moves forward one inch per minute, due to the combined weight of the riders]
Dracula: [very annoyed] Oh *Come* ON!
