Do you like Erasure, mid-80s ABC, Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears and Howard Jones? There's a little bit of each of these represented here on this album. If you're into modern Synthpop and or Synthwave St. Lucia's latest album is more than worth checking out.
Several other groups doing similar things are trying to break into mainstream by adding modern elements, St. Lucia is keeping everything a bit closer to genre-standard. Gone on this album are the modern indie-vocal stylings that some of these other groups employ. St. Lucia's devotion to the Sophistipop/Synthpop esthetic even trickles down to the fashion sense with the band dressing like a 1987 ESPRIT ad. This is all quite commendable.
Not as good as the first album, but still a great alt-synthpop album with some major 80s influence-perhaps even more than the first. If you have even the slightest inclination toward 80s pop/synthpop music, you will like this.
From this album, the single 'Dancing on Glass' is quite catchy, but I really like the songs 'Home' and 'Help Me Run Away'.
Also check out Magic Man and Strange Talk if you like St. Lucia
