Fish-out-of-water Ray sinks further into his dark past. What keeps this series afloat is the really great acting: Schreiber, Voight, Marsan, Mihok, Pierce, Azaria; nice photography (actually better than when it was broadcast); however, only 60% of the plot is interesting, the rest? WTF? In particular, the whole beach house storyline .

This series keeps me up way past my bedtime. It is just captivating. I'll truly be sorry when I run out of seasons

I am mesmerized by this show. Ray Donovan juggles more balls in the air than an Olympic gymnast. He goes from putting out one fire to another, and all of this is carefully crafted, well written, beautifully acted and thought-provoking. It's one of the few shows that I really think about after every episode. Five stars. I love it. Next best thing to the Sopranos – maybe even better.
