Add a CommentAnother really interesting installment in the Dune series. I can't give it 5 stars because, for whatever reason, I can't bring myself to care about the individual characters in these books - but the overarching themes and setting are fantastic.
Unlike most other books in which the "quote before chapter" format is employed, the quote actually feels worth reading. It either helps build the world from a perspective not otherwise accessible or provides a relevant insight that helps to frame the narrative.
The story of unintended environmental destruction for human convenience is certainly still relevant today, and there are also political observations that are disturbingly timely.
The penultimate Dune Book!
A very good book, something you'd expect from Frank Herbert.
This is a solid entry in the "Dune" series. I particularly enjoyed the surprise ending, and where Herbert took it with subsequent novels.
The desert planet of Dune is still the key to ruling the Universe.
Now that Paul has taken over ... how will he maintain his dominance over all the minor houses and their plottings.
A must read series
