What the hell kind of ending was that?!!! Not OK, Cassie. Not. OK. 😭 please, someone.... please tell me there's gonna be a miracle to undo that last chapter... the clock struck an hour... our winged friends need to get their asses down there and fix this! Fix all of it! Fix the tragedies that just happened and fix the bigots that are getting their way. They need to be stripped of Nephilim blood and power and exiled. That is what I want to happen... please make it happen, Cassie! 😭 I'm not prepared to wait for the next book, now.

Read this book a bit ago. I liked it, as I seem to like every book written by Cassandra Clare, and it took me on an emotional whirlwind. I gotta say, part of me felt disappointed though. I know Julian is a huge part of Emma's life but it just felt like a book filled with angst and heartbreak and made in a way the intense focus on it took away some of Emma's character for me. I felt like her reputation was forced onto the reader. At some point, someone reiterates that Emma is the best Shadowhunter since Jace Herondale but honestly I don't feel like I've seen the evidence. She's good, don't get me wrong, but stating that she's the new up-in-coming while reading about all about her love life (not a bad thing) seemed a little forced for me. I don't know, I could be complaining about nothing, it was just something I noticed in the book.
Good read and nice location, drama as expected between the Blackthorn brothers after the controversial ending of Lady of Midnight. Mischief and adventure were delivered as expected.

AMAZING book, but the ending brought me to actual tears. If you are contemplating on reading this book, I would suggest waiting until the third book comes out. Otherwise, you will fall into complete and total depression like me. Great work, Cassandra Clare. Keep it up.

Very good story that grew on me as the story developed. The depth of the characters and their development throughout the series is great to watch.
My one big criticism is that several of the original "rules" from the original series seem to be conveniently changed. For example, in the original series Alex secretly was in love with Jace...some how this did not also result in an increased power to Jace's runes or a decent into madness by Alex. Actually Alex also did not appear to realize that this was forbidden...
Another big change was the heavy use of cell phones, computers and understanding of the human world that they are now pretty well versed-in in this series but previously were largely unaware of except for Simon and Claire in the other series.
Sadly I find when an author starts to change the rules to the world that they created to conveniently fit with a new story line it ruins some of the magic. She also REALLY needs to find a new storyline that doesn't focus on racial tensions and discrimination... it is getting pretty old.

This book will forever haunt me. The number of deaths will destroy you. This book will keep up reading until your eyes pop out of their eye sockets. Wonderful work by the amazing Cassandra Clare.

I wish I'd known about the abrupt and shocking end of Lord of Shadows before I started it: I would've waited until the final edition was available so I could roll right into it. It's going to be hard to wait!

I just finished it yesterday and I'm so sad about Livvy. :( I don't think I can wait another two years for the next book!!!!!

Great Book! I thought Lady Midnight was better, but LOS was still super entertaining. Beware of the abrupt ending and the emotional rollercoaster you are about to embark on. Its gonna be hard for you to wait 2 years until Queen of Air and Darkness comes out. Julian and Emma will make you go crazy and minor characters like Kit, Ty, Livvy, Dru, and Christina have a much larger role in this book. Although their storylines took the focus away from Julian and Emma (which we always want more of), they are were crucial to the development of subplots. The romance between different characters develops, more information about the parabatai bond is revealed and interesting alliances are made. Overall, there are twists and turns left and right, but the book is very well written, totally addicting and worth a read!

This was such a great book. Found myself craving more Julian & Emma. Even kind of hoping Christina, Mark & Kieran can work out some weird relationship. The ending though left my breathless. So sad. Its such a crime to have to wait for the next installment.
