Sometimes when I’m reading a book by an unreliable narrator, I must stop reading to digest what the narrator is saying. This is that kind of book. Along with that, I reluctantly picked the book back up again, because I really didn’t want to know what the ultimate outcome would be. Emma in the Night isn’t a long book, but the author’s writing was so tightly written with each sentence having an impact on the telling, it took me three days to read the book. This is psychological thriller at it’s best. Walker deftly peels the off the layers of this dysfunctional family with each member trying one-up the others in getting what they want.

A decent mystery/thriller, with an unreliable narrator, that will keep you guessing!

This was an excellent book. First read by this author but will not be the last. Very different topic for the story. Kept you interested until the very end that you will not see coming. Highly recommend - even better than the highly touted "Women in the Window".

First book by Wendy Walker and I loved it. Hard to put down and I did not guess the the ending which is unusual. Nor was it an out of the blue ending that made no sense. Really great read!

Ohhhh, this was a good psychological drama. A mean, manipulative mother with narcissistic personality disorder. A daughter who has watched and learned how her mother operates and devises a plan to turn the tables on her. The daughter is an unreliable narrator so you don't know the full story until the end. Couldn't put it down - read it in a day.

Interesting story delving into one of the lesser known personality disorders. Lots of twists and turns. Disappointing ending.

This was my first book From author Wendy Walker. While browsing Netgalley I came across Emma In The Night. I was immediately drawn to the cover art. Clicking the cover I read the description and knew I had to read it. It sounded intriguing. I wasn't disappointed.

Cass return home after vanishing years ago with her sister, Emma. Cass is all alone. The questions begin. Where is Emma? What happened? Where have the girls been this entire time?

Chapter by chapter Cass tells the story. Each revelation brings even more questions from her parents and from investigators. With each chapter we learn more about the secrets to the girls' past. Not everything in this well-to-do family is how it seemed to the outside world. Right away, FBI agent and forensic psychologist Abby Winter can see through Cass' story and pokes holes in it.

This story is well written. The plot twists come a the perfect time and kept me interested and engaged throughout the entire book. The ending was not something I imagined or saw coming. A beautifully disturbing read!

This is a solid 5 star read for me! I look forward to reading Wendy Walker's other books, as they have already been added to my TBR pile!

You can get your ebook, hardcover or paperback copy of Emma In The Night now! While you are there, check out the author's other books.

Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for allowing me a free copy to read and review.

Happy Reading!
