I went in expecting a nice story about kids battling over a rare marble but got so much more. The drug cartel has finally arrived in Boli's tiny village near Mexico City and everything about his life is about to change. Dark and gritty, this coming-of-age novel is a well-written look at the reality of living under the shadow of the cartel in Mexico. I highly recommend it! Warning: This novel is fairly graphic, with a fair amount of murder and some language.

great teen novel, just the fact that it shows that good doesn't always triumph and how rotten things can get makes me recommend it, great coming of age story, won't be disappointed
