I'm not usually a fan of wordless picture books, but I like this one. Not the best for a read aloud to a class as you need to see the smaller details, but a great share with a few children.
A sweet and lovely look at what one child can do to support another child. The ending illustrations also demonstrate how one simple act or idea for the good can turn into a movement of many.

The endpapers are so clever -- at the beginning they're black and white; at the end they're colorful.

My colleague brought this to me and told me I had to read it immediately because of "all the feels." Man, was she right! A beautiful wordless picture book brings a perspective of a girl witnessing a new student being bullied - and her decision to stand up for her. READ AND SHARE THIS BOOK!

This wordless picture book feels both timeless and necessary for this moment in time.
Rich, expressive illustrations. This book is just perfect!

A wordless book with charming drawings shows how one person's concern can change the life of another very easily.
Coincidentally, the very day I told my granddaughter, Vanessa, about this very nice book with a character of the same name, her Mom told me about the "Buddy Bench" Vanessa's big sister was able to have installed on her school playground for a Bronze Award Girl Scout project.
Not knowing what a Buddy Bench was, I was very pleased to find out it is where a child wanting to find someone to play with would sit as a signal to other children to come invite them to play!
What a nice idea! Helps to make the world-go-round more smoothly, eh?
