Experience the spectacular world of James Cameron's Avatar as never before with this collector's ed. release. Watch all three versions of the film, than treat your senses to an unprecedented beyond the scenes look at the greatest adventure of all time! When his twin brother dies in an accident, paraplegic ex-Marine Jake Sully takes his place on a mission to the human outpost on Pandora, where a corporate consortium is mining a rare mineral that is the key to solving Earth's energy crisis. Sully works with a group of scientists cloning near-duplicates of the planet's inhabitants, the Na'vi, whom specially trained scientists can control mentally to foster peace between the corporation and the natives. But when Sully finds himself lost on Pandora and trapped in a Na'vi clone body, a beautiful Na'vi woman saves his life and Sully discovers the corporation's plan to mine the mineral--at any cost.

This SyFy/Adventure story had its good moments, as well as its not-so-good moments, too.

This time around it's the humans who are the monsters.

Five star- Awesome movie! I wish all movies were rated G, for much less violence, or they would always produce a PG version also, but overall great movie.

Directed, written, produced, and co-edited by James Cameron in 2009, this SF drama depicts the mid-22nd-century adventure in a lush habitable moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system.
Although the story seems interesting, I don't like the face and shape of a humanoid species.
If this humanoid is genetically engineered, it should look more like humans.
In any cae, it is a nice entertaining piece with excellent visual effects.

Avatar is James Cameron's most adventurous, visually-stunning, and epic Sci-Fi films I watched. Visual effects are absolutely groundbreaking and it was definitely recommended watching in your local movie theater in 3D, but (in my humble opinion) the story's too dry. However, I appreciate the exploration and environmental themes that the movie tried to convey. Avatar's a nice experience to go to other captivating worlds, but could've done a better job with the narrative.

This multi-million-dollar production could have been a whole lot better from its story's angle.

I must agree that this film could well have been half as long without all of that ridiculous and destructive shoot 'em up bang, bang military nonsense. I sure hope that the next four sequels already in the making will be more benign with an intelligent story line.
Still, I loved all the visual beauty and will view it again whilst fast forwarding through the boum, boum sequences.

If you like cartoons you are going to love this movie. After a short time the animation became just that: Animation.
