Meet teenage Wiccan Mila Flores, who truly could not care less what you think about her Doc Martens, her attitude, or her weight because she knows that, no matter what, her BFF Riley is right by her side. So when Riley and Fairmont Academy mean girls June Phelan-Park and Dayton Nesseth die under suspicious circumstances, Mila refuses to believe everyone's explanation that her BFF was involved in a suicide pact. Instead, armed with a tube of lip gloss and an ancient grimoire, Mila does the unthinkable to uncover the truth: she brings the girls back to life. Unfortunately, Riley, June, and Dayton have no recollection of their murders. But they do have unfinished business to attend to. Now, with only seven days until the spell wears off and the girls return to their graves, Mila must wrangle the distracted group of undead teens and work fast to discover their murderer...before the killer strikes again.--dust jacket.

What do you do when your best friend dies, and everyone else thinks it's suicide except you? What if you have been practicing Wicca for years and get your hands on a book of spells that could bring her back to life? Yeah, it's complicated. Very funny but also has emotional depth. Great mystery, too.

This was pretty good, but I did not see that TWIST coming as I just assumed this book followed the teen tropes. Mila was a good protagonist and the examinations of the relationships between the characters was refreshing. It;s a solid paranormal story.

Mila's best friend has died. It's been ruled a suicide but she knows that can't be true. Mila and her best friend fancied themselves witches so it's perfectly reasonable in Mila's mind to raise Riley from the dead. She didn't bet on the other two girls whose deaths were also ruled suicide coming back too. June and Dayton are mean girls and they all hated each other when they were alive.

Does this not sound like a great mystery? There's magic, hilarity, undead female friendships, and other such fun. Despite the subject matter, which is given its emotional due, it really was a ball overall.

"The dead do not walk. Not ever. Not even for a moment. In metaphors or allegories, maybe, but never literally. It's against nature. It defies the will of the Goddess."

Overall I really loved this book. The mystery was so good, and I wasn't able to figure it out until the end when the other characters did. The friendship we see start and grow in this book was so nice to see and really show how someone can be completely different from who you thought they were.
I also really liked the sibling relationship between Mila and her sisters. It was so realistic to me and we don't just see them arguing or being angry at each other. Her sisters are really worried about her and want to make sure she's okay in the only way they know how to as siblings.

"The problem with your best friend dying is that there's no one to sit with you at funerals."
