The enemy wants us to feel rejected . . . left out, lonely, and less than. When we allow him to speak lies through our rejection, he pickpockets our purpose. Cripples our courage. Dismantles our dreams. And blinds us to the beauty of Christ's powerful love. In Uninvited, Lysa shares her own deeply personal experiences with rejection—from the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father to the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over. With biblical depth, gut-honest vulnerability, and refreshing wit, Lysa helps readers: Release the desire to fall apart or control the actions of others by embracing God-honoring ways to process their hurt. Know exactly what to pray for the next ten days to steady their soul and restore their confidence. Overcome the two core fears that feed our insecurities by understanding the secret of belonging. Stop feeling left out and start believing that "set apart" does not mean "set aside." End the cycle of perceived rejection by refusing to turn a small incident into a full blown issue.

It made me look at certain things differently, especially when times were tough. It gave me a sense of comfort from reading this and I love all the little messages she wrote in each chapter as a small take away.

An interesting book that definitely challenges the reader to think about how they view their self-worth. It is not my favorite book on this topic, but it did provide some meaningful tidbits to consider.

Lysa Terkeurst's blatant honesty and down-to-earth anecdotes make this religious self-help book a winner.
For anyone (but especially women) who has experienced rejection, loneliness, and self-doubt, this book will welcome you to a new perspective. Terkeurst makes it clear that it is not about blaming the other person - even when they are wrong - because it won't get you anywhere. It's also not about blaming yourself. It's not about blame at all! It's about changing your perspective; releasing your dependence on the opinions of others, accepting that sometimes it really is you, not them, and rediscovering God's love for you.

The author is authentic and sensitive to the readers - she wrote " Let me reach out of this flat page right now and grasp your hand. Feel the tenderness in my touch and the sincerity in what I'm about to say."

Did not realize reality would be blended with fiction. Not the book for me.

Rejection—It may be a delay. It may be a distraction. It may even be a devastation for a season but it is not your final destination.

Things of this world all eventually reveal what incapable anchors they really are.

How dangerous it is when our souls are gasping for God but we’re too distracted flirting with the world to notice.

Live from the abundant place that you are loved, and you won’t find yourself begging others for scraps of love.
