"Bea Schumacher is a leading fashion blogger, known for her warm, honest body-positive message. But after an unexpected heartbreak, Bea's confidence is shaken and she feels hopelessly alone. In the midst of her sadness (and some drunken internet rantings), she receives a surprising proposition: Would Bea like to be the first plus-size woman to star in the next season of reality dating competition sensation Main Squeeze? Against her better judgment, she accepts. The producers promise it will be the most diverse cast yet and a great opportunity to expand her brand. And while she knows she'll never find love, she might find distraction from her broken heart and inspire other plus-sized women to believe that they have a right to the spotlight too. But as the cameras roll, she is forced to face down judgement, ridicule, and expectations amidst over-the-top dates and international travel with a line-up of men who feel like fantasies (a sexy French chef, a sardonic professor, a playful younger man) as she ultimately discovers the truth behind the fairytale, and the reality of falling in love. In this witty, heartfelt debut, Kate Stayman-London shines a light on how the complex standards of female beauty affect how we define ourselves and who deserves to be seen...and loved"-- Provided by publisher.

Add a CommentBea, a plus sized blogger, gets the chance to compete on the reality TV show, Main Squeeze. But Bea is worried the guys won't accept her because of her weight. Will Bea find true love or will she leave broken hearted? The fun, uplifting read that we all need! If you like the show The Bachelor, this book is for you.
I think this book would be a big hit with the younger generation.
Couldn't put this book down. Didn't want it to end! Loved every part of this book. Can't wait for more from this author.
I loved this book! The main character was so relatable and the social media references/conversations were a fun bonus!
While I am not a big fan of the bachelor/ Bachelorette series I surprised myself and picked this one up via a library recommendation. Why? Basically because the main character was a plus size woman pushing herself to try something outside her comfort zone. Kudos to the author for delving into what are very real issues from shopping to dating to self acceptance, no matter what others believe.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!
LOVED IT!!! lol What a great twist on the Bachelor/Bachelorette series. I'm not a big fan of that series but I know how it works. Even if you don't watch that series you'd still enjoy this story. Bea, in all her glory, is a fan favourite..You're just naturally pulling for her! She's a great heroine and you'll see something in her that reminds you of your own life...whether it's you or a friend or a relative or an acquaintance...This one will make you think and realize that it's ok to be YOU! end of story. Enjoy this quick read.
Stayman-London's take on the Bachelor/Bachelorette phenomenon has Bea, a plus-size Instagram influencer, looking for love. The initial reactions of her potential husbands range from hilarious to disgusted to noncommittal. With wry, deft humor, the author accurately skewers the reality behind the "made for tv" fantasy and the absurdity of searching for love in the public eye. What I really loved about this story is that the author managed to work in diverse characters in a way that didn't feel staged or "politically correct".
This was extremely fun and very well-written. Incredibly perceptive about the media's treatment of women, particularly fat women. I liked it a lot! (The sponsors of the "podcasts" transcribed in the book are particularly great.)
Fun escapist romance featuring a plus-sized protagonist and a hugely diverse cast of supporting characters! Body & LGBT+ positive! :)
