This film is an exposé of gasoline in the USA. The problem is framed by consumer preferences and consumption patterns, and the solutions offered with few exceptions are a perpetuation of the status quo by using alternative fuels. Missing is the obvious fact that almost any consumer could cut their fuel consumption immediately by riding a bike, walking or taking the bus - not even a consideration in the car culture featured in this film. "I'm an American, I drive an SUV, and I want cheaper gas" seems to be the mantra, and guess what, it's possible, we just have to get those nasty oil companies to stop shelving great ideas and conspiring with the car companies. Some of the personalities in this film are credible, but others look like in-bred mountain people living in shacks in Montana with no credentials. These people need to take a trip to Europe where the price of petrol is double or more what we pay in North America. You can complain about it, or change your driving behaviour, vehicle, etc. The only thing stopping you is you.
