I gave this 2 1/2 stars & felt the first-time authoress did a decent job with her imagination. When I first started this I had great hesitation that it was going to be much too youth directed. Also, the idea of aliens being in 'monster form' gave me greater pause. Monsters come in all forms of disguise. Stickly with it I began thinking of survival, foreward thinking & planning capability from 'youth' is a good projection, contemplation & benefit for any age. Good instructions. A laugh out loud moment for me was when the 'house guest' raided the mother's closet, choosing brand names based solely on the name. Perfect picture, seen daily in print & on the tube, even in 7 year old children. The story hints at eugenics, bio-engineering, bio-warfare, plagues (that I am more inclined to believe.) However the switching back & forth didn't appeal to me, nor does the method the author implemented. I liked the ending, much more appropriate.
