Excellent! Great author, imaginative, learned, thorough research done, succeeds at conveying moods with sensitivity and insight. Also focuses on Panic Attacks, PTSD, military life and many more social issues. The story is complex, not difficult. Like a locked room mystery. The setting of the murder is a Dark Sky Park, a novel setting for a mystery & based on the Headlands Dark Sky Park, Emmet Park, Straits of Mackinac, Michigan. I was excited to learn about Dark Sky Parks, (had never heard this term) viewing the stars, constellations & Northern Lights UNDER A DARK SKY, a rare phenomenon today. I am inspired to drive up to Straits of Mackinaw to view the Northern Lights, etc. from a dark sky. The “Headlands” became one of the 10 international Dark Sky Parks in the world in 2011. It will stay dark and protected, forever, thanks to a commitment by the Emmet County Board of Commissioners. The characters created are interesting, the story complex but not difficult, unputdownable. Touches on our lives, married and single, from perspectives of 35+ yr. olds versus younger people who are just beginning their careers. Interesting philosophical musings on marriage, perception on marriage when we are young, and again, after 10+ yrs. of married life. The young crowd in this story plan a reunion at the guest house located in the sky park and are reminiscent of the characters on "Friends" as perceived by middle aged people. A widow is also booked to stay in the suite at the guest house. Both parties thought they would have the entire house to themselves. The tale begins when all 6 arrive at the guest house. Loved the book, am already starting another of her books, "The Day I Died". 6 Stars, no doubt in this readers' mind!
