Ballet Shoes

a Story of Three Children on the Stage
Jul 07, 2018SenaDoling rated this title 5 out of 5 stars
When I was nine, I went to a thrift store with my aunt. She found Ballet Shoes on the children's shelf, shocked that I hadn't read it, and insisted on buying it for me. Despite the 1930s language, I immediately fell in love with the characters, setting and premise. I devoured it then, and have reread it multiple times since. Having just finished it at fourteen, it has yet to lose its charm. Delightfully old-fashioned as they are, Pauline, Petrova and Posy have been some of my favourite fictional friends. I recommend this book to girls of any age.
